Freezing Temperatures Can Lead To Water Leaks

Our SERVPRO of Northwest Cobb County crew recently responded to a local business in Macland, GA, that had suffered from a pipe burst due to freezing temperatures. During the winter months, these types of losses are very common.

An Atlanta business in the midst of a water removal job

Water damage to wood floors

We were called to help with this water loss in the Atlanta area. These floors were severely damaged and needed to be removed. Our SERVPRO team was quick to get the floors up and ready to start the repairs.

Mold Behind Sheetrock

After performing a wet check in this home in Acworth, we found moisture in this area that encouraged the mold growth you see in this picture. We removed the mold and moisture and repaired all the damage it caused.

Utility Closet With Mold

This utility closet had mold growing inside. Our team responded with all the necessary equipment, including fans, air scrubbers, and dehumidifiers to remove the moisture and mitigate any further microbial growth. We repaired all the damage and made it "Like it never even happened."

Equipment Prepped and Ready

When a mold loss happens, you need trained professionals with the proper equipment to make sure the job is done correctly. In this photo, you can see some of the equipment we use, staged and ready to go.

Mold in a Kennesaw Laundry Closet

The lack of ventilation resulted in moisture collecting within the side and back wall of the utility closet in a Kennesaw rental.  After removal of the non-salvageable materials, our SERVPRO team can disinfect the area, close up the walls and install a small exhaust vent to control future moisture buildup.

Macland Crawl Space Grows Mold

The poor ventilation in this crawl space in a Macland home, coupled with sufficient moisture, allowed these mold species to flourish. These fungi damage the floor joists and also circulate mold spores, and possible allergens into the house above.
